By 2024, 1,800 families will receive payments to buy new housing in areas with more favorable natural and socio-economic conditions.

Aleksey Chekunov, Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic: “People live and work in the world’s northernmost city, Norilsk, which supplies the Russian and global economies with strategic metals necessary for advanced industries and for the development of the Northern Sea Route. Adoption of a comprehensive plan of renovation and development of this pivotal city for the whole of Taymyr with a total amount of over 120 billion rubles, of which 70% of funds will be provided by MMC Norilsk Nickel, is a landmark project of public-private partnership, whose main objective is to improve the quality of life of Norilsk residents. Subsequently, this experience may be replicated in the implementation of other integrated reconstruction projects in the cities of the Far North. The plan of integrated reconstruction of Norilsk is calculated until 2035, however our goal is to perform the main scope of works related to renovation of housing stock, construction of engineering and social infrastructure objects in the coming years.”
